Chobe

Chobe National Park (11700 sq km) is known throughout the world for its huge population of elephants. But is also home to many other animals and wildlife. There is also a downside from the elephants in that they are a destructive animal, causing damage to the environment by being so closely contained. It is now estimated there are around 120000 elephants between the Chobe and Okavango Delta.

The government of Botswana is currently considering alternatives to minimise this destruction for the elephants and other animals good, including a possible relocation to Sioma Ngwezi park in Zambia.
