Things To Do: Berry Springs
  • Tip Rating:
  • Less then an hour from Darwin, Berry Springs is one of those places few tourists often discover yet all the locals know of it. I very pretty place, good for a bbq, swim or just a stroll in the grassed areas Berry Springs is somewhere to relax and let the topend afternoon drift by. Toilets, bbq, 3 swimming holes, shop open sometimes and historical displays about the area and Berry Springs role in World War 2.

Named in honour of the former mayor and 1 time gardener the botanical gardens are full of many of darwins local plants and those the locals grow in theire gardens. A cool and relaxing place to take a stroll.

  • Once again another great council facility. lake Alexander in itself is a great spot to relax and unwind and with the new playground there, the kids are now well catered for. Also with bbq's, toilets, swimming in the Lake and plenty of walking trails nearby this is a great place to take the kids.

    Things To Do: Parap Markets
  • Tip Rating:
  • Open approximately 8am every Saturday morning until sometime in the afternoon, Parap markets is a relaxing place to obtain souvenirs, fruit and vegeies, local foods and an odd assortment of crafts. Its also a great place to catch up with friends and meet some local identities. Parking sometimes difficult and finding a seat can be hard as its very popular with the locals. Enough said, locals like it, it must be good.......

Things To Do: Litchfield National Park - Florence Falls
  • Tip Rating:
  • Florence Falls is one of Litchfields most scenic of falls,Located at the bottom of a climb down it also is one of Litchfields hidden swimming holes. With no facilties below at the falls its best to descend already prepared for the swim.

there is also a 4wd campsite with a rough track to the falls, the advantage of the campsite is its somewhat secluded and the walk dosnt entail a descent/ascent
