Darwin Information | Darwin from the duck ponds |
TIME: Greenich mean time plus 9 1/2 hours.
CLIMATE: from November to April is the monsoonal wet season when most of the on average 1651mm of rain falls and humidity increases into the high 90's. Also this is the time when cyclones are likely to happen, although few dangerous have approached Darwin in a while.
From May to September the weather turns friendlier as rain reduces to near nothing, humidity drops to a bearable level and temperatures drop to slightly below the 30's for maximums.
CLOTHING: shorts and t-shirts are often the go, although if your planning to go out check the dress regulations before.
WATER CONSUMPTION: ensure you drink plenty of water (up to 8 glasses a day). Also dont over do the intake as the Territory is one of the few places in the world where people become sick from over consumption. |
