"Kingston Upon Thames" a Kingston upon Thames Travel Page by sue_stone

Kingston Upon Thames is located in the South West of London. Originally a market town, today it still maintains a "villagey" feel in parts, with cobbled streets and funny old buildings. Alongside the old, there are fancy new shopping malls and department stores, which have helped to make Kingston into the largest shopping hub in West and South West London.

As the name suggests, Kingston is located on the River Thames, which is another reason to visit. You can take a wander by the river, or stop off for a drink or a meal in one of the riverside bars or restaurants.

On my latest visit to Kingston, I dragged Alex along to do some shopping and then we relaxed and had a very nice lunch at a restaurant by the river. We sat out on the towpath, watching the boats and the swans go by.
