the train station
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is a small Welsh village with a ridiculously long name.

Located in Northern Wales, there is nothing much to see here, but everyone who drives nearby, us included, stops in to take photos of the crazy name!

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch means 'St Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St Tysilio near the Red Cave'. The name was invented to attract tourists, and it worked.

Most locals, as I remember, just call it Llanfair. At junior school in London I had a teacher who was born within about five miles of here.
