Castellina in Chianti is one of the main towns in the Chianti region of Tuscany. We spent a day exploring Chianti (no where near long enough!!) and stopped off in Castellina for a look around.

This lovely hill town is home to an historic fortress and some giant ugly looking silos which you can't help but notice on your way into town - they are not all bad....as they are filled with delicious Chianti Classico wine!

Castellina is located only 18 kms from Siena, and makes a good introduction to the Chianti region.
