Florence is a beautiful city which I have had the pleasure of visiting four times so far, my last visit being in Sep 2007.

It is the one place in Italy that I could envisage living in for an extended time, and is a great base to explore Tuscany.

Thanks for the tip on La Ghiotta! I was in Florence today and found your tip last night. After reading it I knew I would love the place. The lunch was tasty with great atmosphere, no tourists around. Well, besides me of course, lol. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I was going to use www.trenitalia.it to book my tickets, but when I go to purchase the tickets it says my payment is denied when I put all my info in. I even tried using paypal plug-in but it didn't work. Any suggestions?

I am leaving in 2 weeks for Italy. I would love to buy leather goods however how can you tell if the merchandise is of quality or not? Thank you ever so much. Thank you also for the San Lorenzo market i shall visit for sure! Sonia15
