The Beehive is a little oasis in the not so pretty area near the main train station in Rome.

It has private rooms and dorm rooms, all with shared facilities and is run by a very friendly American couple and their helpful staff.

It is located only a couple of minutes walk from the station, close to the metro and buses, and 20-30mins walk from all the major attractions.

Unique Qualities: We were really impressed with The Beehive. It is clean and modern with really funky furniture.

We stayed in a spacious private room, and were happy with the facilities.

There is a nice outdoor area for relaxing and the resident cats are friendly.

There is also a share kitchen and free internet.

All in all a great, budget place to stay in Rome.

This 1 star hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from the central train station in Rome, making it a good base to explore the city.

We had a large double room with a bathroom and although nothing fancy, we were pleasantly surprised at the standard for our money in Rome.

Unique Qualities: The room was big and we had out own bathroom, which was good for the price.

It wasn't posh, or squeaky clean, but was convenient and a good base.

I stayed at Hotel Margaret back in 1999. At tha time the rooms had just been renovated and I felt like I was staying in a much fancier place than a 2 star hotel.

The room wasn't huge, but had a nice bathroom and all mod cons.

The location is great - only about 10 mins walk from Rome Termini Station, and 10-15mins walk from most of the main attractions.

The staff were friendly and we enjoyed our stay.
