I was one of the lucky ones who took part in the 1st official European VT Meeting, held from 6 - 8 May 2005, in Valeggio sul Mincio & Verona.

It was quite an experience to be in the company around 70 VT'ers from over the world! A few I had met before, some I was looking forward to meeting, and some I had never even heard of before!!

I didn't arrive in Valeggio sul Mincio until the Saturday morning, but quickly met up with some of the group. I am sad that I didn't make it for the big Friday night welcome dinner....kind of felt a little out of the loop...but I was made to feel so welcome and I soon caught up on all the gossip!

There were so many people there that I didn't get the chance to speak to everyone. Although so exciting to see so many VT'ers together, at times I found it all a bit overwhelming.....so many faces!!

Sorry to those who I didn't get a chance to meet and to those not in any of my photos....perhaps next time!!

Sue, these travelogues are dynamic! What fun you had. The photos of the castle are intriguing. How fortunate you were to attend and meet so many great travelers. Thanks for letting us share vicariously.

G'Day Sue & while unfortunately not being able to participate then this is the next best thing. Gr8 pics & some of my faves - you, Maria & Barbara. Maybe you & I should agiitate for the next BIG VT meet to be in Sydney in 2006????

Thanks for sharing your view of the Verona meet :) I wish I could've gone myself, but at least I have folks like you to allow me to 'be there' vicariously.
