When you wander around the small streets off Piazza San Marco, you will inevitably come across a large number of seafood restaurants, with displays of seafood out the front, and waiters standing in the street trying to coax you into their restaurant.
Do your best to resist their friendly invitation to dine in their establishments...the majority of these restaurants are over-priced tourist traps.
We got caught out one night....feeling like a bit of seafood, we ventured into one of theses places....and it was the worst and most expensive meal we had during a 4 week stay in Italy!

At Least Do This: Read the menu's outside carefully...make sure you are not paying for the seafood by weight - if so, it will cost a fortune....and check what you get for the price - vegies/salad etc will be extra.
Alternative: Why not try finding something a little off the tourist trail instead - I have a couple of good recommendation in my Restaurant tips
