The Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo is an interesting Renaissance palace/mansion located just of the main drag in the San Marco region of Venice. I class it as 'off the beaten track' as you would surely walk right past it if you didn't know it was there - it is down a very small street just off Campo Manin. The main draw card is the fabulous spiral staircase located on the outside of the building. The palace was built in the 15th century, and you can enter the grounds for a small price, but we just stood outside and took some photos.
