Restaurant Name: Ristorante Pizzeria Vulnetia
Ristorante Pizzeria Vulnetia is a friendly restaurant located by the harbour in Vernazza. They have a reputation of serving the best Pizza in Vernazza, and after eating here twice, we were not disappointed. Service is really friendly and location is perfect - right downstairs from our hotel!
Favorite Dish: We had really delicious Seafood Risotto and excellent Pizza. All washed down with plenty of good local wine!! A great place for a meal, conversation and another of those Cinque Terre sunsets!

Restaurant Name: Trattoria Gianni Franzi
Trattoria Gianni Franzi is a busy restaurant located in Piazza Marconi, by the harbour in Vernazza. It serves a good range of the local Cinque Terre style cuisine - plenty of fish and pasta dishes. They are also open for breakfast - you can stand insde at the small bar and have excellent coffee and a croissant or similar pastry for a couple of euros per person.
Favorite Dish: We had a relaxing dinner here of seafood pasta, washed down with a bottle of Gianni's special house wine. A great place to dine and watch the sunset!

Restaurant Name: Baja Saracena
The bar/cafe situated right on the harbour front in Vernazza is a great place to have a relaxing breakfast before tackling one of the Cinque Terre trails. Just head for the umbrellas on the point, order one of the 6 or so breakfast combo's and relax.
Favorite Dish: Normally just have a croissant and coffee, but you can also have muesli and yoghurt or a panini. It is also my favourite place for sunset drinks and nibbles.

Trattoria da Sandro: Trattoria da Sandro - local Cuisine

Restaurant Name: Trattoria da Sandro
One night on our recent stay in Vernazza we decided to break away from our usual practice of eating in one of the restaurants by the harbour, and ventured up the hill towards the train station to Trattoria da Sandro. It was a chilly night, and luckily we had booked earlier that day, as this small cosy restaurant was very busy, filled with happy diners. So we ordered a bottle of the locally produced wine and sat back to enjoy some of Vernazza's finest.
Favorite Dish: We really enjoyed the local dish of large anchovies in lemon juice, and the mixed fried seafood was tasty too. I had a delicious spaghetti with seafood. We even managed to squeeze in a serve of their homemade tiramisu. ** We had dinner again at Trattoria da Sandro in Sep 2007. We were a little disappointed this time. All our food seemed to be over-salted. **

Restaurant Name: Gelateria Stalin - aka Gelato Amore Mio
In Sep 2007, we arrived in Vernazza one afternoon after a busy day of eating, and realised that we hadn't had our daily gelato as yet. Oh dear, what could we do, but head to the nearest gelateria! There are a couple in Vernazza, but after a quick look at the options, we decided on Gelateria Stalin (aka Gelato Amore Mio) as the ice cream looked creamiest.
Favorite Dish: Can you believe that I was so full still from a big lunch, that Alex and I decided just to share two scoops - we had the Chocolate and the Mint choc-chip. It was creamy delicious.

Restaurant Name: La Lanterna in Riomaggiore
This was the best food we ate during a four week trip in Italy! This small restaurant is over looking Riomaggiore harbour, a couple of minutes walk from the train station. The friendly owner is flamboyant and multi-lingual, making all feel welcome. Try to get a table on the balcony. We ate there 2 days in a row on our first trip and went back for more the next time we stayed nearby.
Favorite Dish: We loved the Seafood Marinara - delicious and fresh
