Restaurant Name: The Pharaohs Cruising Restaurant
On our last night of our Egyptian tour our group had dinner on a crazy looking boat that cruised around the Nile in central Cairo.
The cruise lasted for a couple of hours and during this time we feasted on a buffet of local (and not so local) delicacies, washed down with a glass or two of icy cold Egyptian beer.
Entertainment during the cruise was varied - there was a belly dancer and, my favourite - a Whirling Dervish. We also enjoyed (touch of sarcasm here) a performance by the resident band accompanied by a couple singing covers of some popular classics with a little (too much) help from some children on board.
To be honest we didn't really enjoy the cruise/dinner - it was noisy and didn't give us the chance to really converse with our fellow diners. It was an interesting experience however.....but should perhaps we listed under 'Tourist Traps' as well.
