The Gold Coast is located on the southern Queensland coast, just north of the border. It is a very popular holiday destination for sun lovers due to the never ending stretches of sandy beaches.
I must admit to not being a huge fan of the Gold Coast…..well, some parts of it, like Burleigh Heads, are quite nice, but I prefer to avoid Surfers Paradise, which is the 'capital of the Gold Coast' and a mecca for tourists, tacky souvenir shops and fast food. But please correct me if things have changed - it has been a while since I ventured into the heart of Surfers. |
