"Nice" a Nice Travel Page by sue_stone

We spent a few nights in Nice in May 2003.

Nice has, like so many other cities, the old town, and the new town. We walked down through the alleyways and into the old town, looking for dinner. Perhaps we were a little naive, however, we weren’t expecting the vast number of pizza and pasta places everywhere. We managed to find a nice little local place, that served what we found to be the local specialty – Nissa Socca, a pizza sized doughy pancake with chicken in it.

After dinner we discovered something along the lines of the pizza/pasta restaurants, that was a pleasant surprise. Gelato. Not only that, but the 1991 world champion Gelateria. We bought a couple of flavours each to keep us company for the walk back to the hotel room.

We spent time walking through the old town, checking out markets and shops.

We also walked along the esplanade to enjoy the sun and amazing blue water.

One morning we walked caught the lift to the top of the headland, for views over Nice.
