Berlin is one of the great cities in the world. After many horrible years of being torn apart, the city is filled with a feeling of unity and hope for the future.
There is more history in Berlin than you can absorb in a short visit. I just hoped that I would be able to gain a small insight into the past, and also catch a glimpse of the soul of this vibrant city which seems to be sailing ahead, leaving the horrors of the past behind.
We spent only 3 days in Berlin - not long enough, but we were still able to a good feel for the city. The highlights of the visit for me were the stunning Reichstag dome, the views from the top of the Berliner Dom, seeing part of the Berlin Wall, and the Asparagus! |
