As of July 2007, we have now spent two separate weekends in county Suffolk.
The first visit was in
August 2005, when we headed up for a friends wedding. We stayed overnight in
Beccles and had short visits to
Orford and
Southwold.
Due to time constraints and poor weather, we really didn't see much that visit, so when friends invited us to stay at their place in Ipswich, in
June 2007, we figured it was a good chance to see some more of this interesting part of the country.
Unfortunately our 2nd trip to Suffolk found more poor weather and grey skies most of the time. It still didn't stop us from discovering some lovely villages and stopping in some great old pubs. We had a very decadent night at The Crown Hotel in Bildeston as well.
Places we visited include
Castle Hedingham (just over the border in Essex), Clare,
Long Melford,
Lavenham,
Kersey,
Bildeston,
Ipswich,
Felixstowe,
Framlingham and
Laxfield.
