October Feria of Fuengirola

Fuengirola Fair
The most important event in Fuengirola, like in the rest of the villages, is the fair. Fuengirolas Fair is one of the lastest fairs of Spain. Is use to be at the middle of October. At that time you can still find at Fuengirola a wonderful weather, good even to beach baths. The Fair is at the centre of the city and its take place at day and knight.
Fuengirola's Beach
Fuengirola was a little fisher village of Malaga. When I was born tourist began to come to south of Spain. Spain then was very diferent from now. Fuengirola it self was very diferent.

Today Fuengirola is a city, you will not see here old building because the old fisher houses has been replace by buildings little by little.

In winter is a quite city full of people of north europa seaching for the wonderful and bright weather we have, and in summer is a crowed city of spanish people from near Malaga that scape from the hight temperatures they have in their own cities in summer.

Fuengirola, I could say is divided in these principal parts, from more near to far from Malaga along the scroll of Fuengirola we will find:

Carvajal and Torreblanca ( is a beautiful part where are many little villas of the 70s in the little mountains )

Los Boliches ( is the most tipical part of Fuengirola where more workers live )

Fuengirola Center ( the center of the city where you will found the most amount of shops the principal square and ayuntamiento)

Zona del Castillo ( at the end of the long scroll you will find the castle, is a residencial area )

Then, not in front of the sea, but next to Mijas, we will find the no so touristic part, where the great amount of spanish people live.
This pic can resume what is Fuengirola at winter ... :))) Must I explain it?

But we have our history. We have a castle and some arqueolic rest of romans and arabic like in nearly every part of Spain. But what makes Fuengirola what it is, is its weather and situation in the "Costa del Sol".

Since 70?s you can find here many europeans that comes here looking for SUN and easy live.

The mayor comunity is british. Fuengirola used to be much more cheap than the rest of Europe to life but today the diferens are not so big.

If you havent come for 2 years to Fuengirola you will find a new Fuengirola. As the world crissis havent affect Spain, we have been go on crowing like we have been for these last 5 years. Nearly everything have been reform.

We have a very big "Paseo Maritimo" where you will see tourist having sun in shorts at any time of the year. WE HAVE A WONDERFUL WEATHER. We have a mountains that protects our coast of the colds north winds. Fuengirola is very near the airport, and in a very good situation por traveling throught andalucia. Is a very good place for living cheaper than others of coast and with plenty of every kind of restaurants and bars and schools in spanish, english, suecos ... We also have Dunes Store, for there british that come here and wants to buy their own typical things.

The casttle Sohail of Fuengirola is at a little hill from where you can see a beautiful view of the city. Ath the beach is a beautiful stamp by day and by knight.

FUENGIROLA doesn't have any really "MUST SEE ... ". Fuengirola is just a good place to live quiet in winter, or a good place to stay near the airport, cheapear than others in the Coast, from where you can go to the really MUST SEE places.
