Majorelle Gardens
Majorelle Gardens, as other fantastic places at Marrakec, is hidden by big walls that nothing does make you think that at that place you can find what is inside....
But this is a different place cause it doesn’t has thousands years of history. The part that I saw was a very simple house but painted bright colours that makes the place different of all that you have seen before, all surrounded by a big beautiful garden. There is a little museum that is not include with the price of the entrance.
At the entrance you will find a taxi stop.
Address: Yacoub El Mansour
Directions: Gueliz, take bus L1 from Koutoubia square, from there walk throught Yacoub El Mansour street till you get to the signal ...
Marrakech souk
An incredible world is present at Marrakech's medina. You can walk and walk seeing or buying, getting lose ... time after time ... I am very bad at orientation so ... I lose my self one and other time ... and repeat the same streets when I did wanted to find different ones .. but ... after some hours I manage to control everything :))
I find the souk a wonderful place to walk in peace ... I was not disturb by sellers ... only sometimes ... "madam..." with a great smile in their faces ... a world of great colour and magic ...Each part of the medina is dedicated to a kind of commerce. You can find the part of medicines and herbs, a part of metals, one of carpets, of animals, of dry fruits, of laps… Every part has its own name. Some of them are covered and others at squares, some of them are very easy to get to, and others you will have to search for them to get to see them. A magic world made between narrowed little streets full of live and great sellers where you will find also little mosques and public baths.
Bahia Palace Women Patio
This great patio was use by the women of the palace. Is where they use to have their place to walk. This patio is surrounding by more womans rooms and at one of it sides you can fin another patio that was the access to the palace for men and children. Separated this two patios by a door and wood windows that where closed by the side of men.
Directions: Medina
Carpets Market
At the souk Zrabia you will find the carpets market, a candy for you eyes of colours ...
Rahba Kedima
As you walk throught the souk you will arrive to a beautiful square. Beautiful not because its arquitecture but ... for all what you will find there ... This square was the old slaves market, and nowadays is a place where you will see men and covered women sitting at the center selling their things ... wool hats, birds, handmade things ... and sourounded by little shops with medicines, magic things ... everything you need to get of an illness....:))
Directions: 150 m from the entrance to the souks
City Walls
The medina (center of the city) is surrounded by pink walls of 19 km crossed by nine monumental doors of Hispanic-morisco style. One of the most wonderfuls is Bab Agnaou, at the south of the city ... Its a lovely walk the one that takes you from the Koutoubia to this door ... or you can take a horse cab ...
I made it walking and took me more than an hour ... as you walk ... you have the fabolous view of the snowed Atlas ... just like SirRichard's wall watercolor of his travel diary
I think is better take a cab or a taxi because the outside of the wall is surrounded by good roads ... and you will have to walk many inside the walls where no taxi or cab can go in many of the little narrowed streets.
Koutoubia
This higth minarete of 1162 is a tall tower that helps you to guide your self in the city. It was the model for the sevillian Giralda. Its a pitty only muslims can get up the tower... maybe in next live ...:))
Down is the bigest mosque of its time, a beautiful building that at pray time is so full that people have to stay outside.
Address: Place Koutoubia
Place Djemma F'na
Unesco have declare this square as patrimonio de la humnidad, for the oral comunication.
At day you will see many umbrellas at the floor .. where you will find a man that will read you the future and a big restaurant and all kind of circus artists at night ..

Student's rooms Merdessa Ben Youssef
The students rooms of Merdessa Ben Youssef are so simple but so beautiful ... there are few types. The ones that have a window to the patio, that where soupouse to be for the more rich students, the others with no windows and otheres with windows to the street. They used to be for two students each, and use to have doors with wooden little windows ... so beautiful ...
