  • Over two kilometres is what you will have to walk between high pink, yellow, ochre walls to reach the famous Treasury, a narrow passageway where you will feel like in other world. I had the great luck to walk through these walls by the hand of a Bedouin friend that explained me about all we saw.

At the entrance you can find the rests of what was an arch. Holes in the walls to keep treasures, a dam next to the at the entrance, dug channels of water running parallel to the Siq, animals and men and woman figures indicating where animals must drink or where should people.

Try to find a moment to walk through this special place alone or with someone special. You will discover a different Siq.
    Thanks Bassem

  • This is what we are all looking for when we go to Petra, beautiful indeed. Thanks to it we see the rest of Petra that is worth also the travel. Protected of the wind for its location, the erosion have not work so much over its fachade. Columns, figures, conical roof, all worked with great maestri. You can easily see the steps at the wall going up to the top that were used to reach the top and do the work, from the top to down.
The best moment when you get to te end of the Siq and you get the first view of the Treasury.

    Things To Do: The Theatre

  • Like the rest, the Theatre is excavated out of the mountain. When we get there we founded coreans singing, making a little modern songs concert. I don’t know really if the where coreans or of other country near, but what I can tell is that the sound in the Theatre is fantastic, so … good work. Romans make it bigger. Just sit down for a while and if no one come to sing, do it your self, perhaps someone will clap you.

  • Incredible excavation work, high in the wall is situated infront the Theatre. Full of arcs, columns, with a big porch.
Bigger than the Treasury but in no so good conditions cause the erosion, but its easy to see the great is was.
Getting inside you will see the enormous hall, now full of birds flying in and out. A good spont to see Petra centre, it was used as Biznatin Church

    The Monastery: The Monastery

  • The Monastery is up, up, up … 500 steps? … I don’t remember … I only remember walking, climbing up over one hour under a terrible sun with hot water. A way where is very difficult to find a shadow to protect yourself and rest. When you reach to the top go direct to the cave in front where you will find a bar, and rest there a little, after you will able to admire the architecture :)
Bigger than the Treasury, but with less work … or at least less work remain, cause there the erosion have make for his work.
Why to come up here? Because it is beautiful and also because the place where it is also wonderful.
Before beging your climing you will be asked to hire a donkey to get up, the will remember you thousands of times that there are 500 steps and that you will take 1 hour to reach the top, and that with the donkey you will get there in a half. All for 4 J.D.
Well you have to decide, I supouse that climing over a donkey must be a great experience :)

  • After climbing to Monastery, remember to make the rest, drink cold water and get breath to go on. Climb a little more, it worth it … to it … just a little more, you will have the most beautiful views. From there you will see Israel? Wadi Musa, well … no problem what it what you are seeing … the thing is that the view is incredible, stay there for a long time, no problem with the sun, its not very hot cause there is a wonderful breeze.

  • You will find it before climbing to Urn Tomb. You will notice it cause her beautiful fachada, the colours of the rock are just beautiful ... Very eroded, but with visible columns. Pinks, blues, yelows ... all the colours are very evident here.
When we went there ... I didn't new it was a important tomb, before it was a bedouin family with their donkeys and their little shop ...
