Vancouver!

by aqazi - last update: Jun 30, 2005

At last I've been able to start on my Vancouver page. We're approaching our second anniversary (wedding, and life in VanC) and I think we're beginning to scratch beneath the surface of this amazing city. We haven't had too many opportunities to visit the surrounding area but as we get out and about we'll start adding more tip and reveiws.

Enjoy!
We came here as a compromise between Montreal and London UK since neither of us wanted to settle down in eachothers home cities. We live in Kits right now which is a bohemian neighbourhood in Vancouver but we're soon moving to Steveston a fishing village on the surburb of Richmond (a city just south of Vancouver by the airport).

We've had several overseas visitors since being here and I think everyone knows Vancouver and British Columbia for its natural beauty. Being a city boy I guess I'm beginning to appreciate it all despite it sounding very sissyish.
Anyway if you're coming out this way allow a couple fo days for the city. Honestly though you'll probably spend one of these days if not both visiting Stanley park and the beaches. There isn't much to the city itself other than the waterfront.

For the rest of your time there's plenty to keep you occupied. However as with all travel you have to be careful not to overstretch yourself. A trip to BC must include a side trip to Victoria on Vancouver Island. Also you should experience one of the mountain we have dominating our skyline, Cypress, Grouse and Seymour.

And the we have whistler a couple of hours to the north, camping at a provinical park like Garibaldi, Golden Ears or even Manning Park. There are hot springs an hour away or peace and tranquility on one of the smaller gulf islands like Salt Spring or Galiano but don't forget the sunshine coast too!

Anyway if you're heading out this way bring your walking shoes, an umbrella and have a great time!

Pros:"Absolutly toooooo many to list"
Cons:"It might just rain....people say "Alrighty!" and "Awesome!" all the time..."
In A Nutshell:"BC, The Best Place on Earth?"
