"Northampton what can I say? r ..." a Northampton Travel Page by aqazi

I thought I really should at least give my home town (or at least the place I was brought up) a mention. I realised it wasn't that easy so I checked to see what other VT'ers had said. It seems they have the same trouble too.

So what of Northampton? Yup its midway between London and Birmingham, just off the M1. Ok and it does have a lighthouse, and a couple of parks but really I'm at a loss. I daredn't enthuse you about the Grosvenor Centre or Weston Favell Shopping becasue if you went there believing it was the West Edmonton Mall of the UK you'd hate me.

So, Ok ummm its a big town in the middle of the UK with lots of people, I remember at school my teacher said it was the biggest town in europe bu tI'm not sure if that's true. It has a crap football team aptly named the cobblers (and yes they a load of ""), rugby side is pretty good and the cricket side is somewhat inconsistent.
So what can I say when people here in Canada ask me about my home town in the UK? Well it's only hour outside of London usually the only thing I can think of!
