Damascus is the oldest inhabited city in the world. I spent three days wandering around the city vistiing the sites and asorbing the atmosphere.

The old bazaar in the centre of the city is busy with people nearly all the time. I did like the city, I didn't even mind being josted this way and that way by the women shopping in the market. Men sit at street corners drinking tea and watching the world go by.

For a quiet moment I stopped at the Ummayad Mosque and soon enough found myself chatting to a guy from the Yemen.
