"Can Tho Floating Market" Can Tho by aqazi

I guess everyone who comes to southern Vietnam goes on a Mekong Delta tour, which ultimatley means that everyone gets to go to CanTho. Luckily for us with the SARS epidemic in full swing we were the only tourist boat in the market and it was quite a sight.

"Come on faster, faster eastenders is on soon"

More interesting that the market however was the 2 days spent on a boat just sitting on the deck watching the world go by. It felt like we were imposing into people's lives, listening to the arguments, watching the kids play or watching the parents work. Just sitting and watching then asking questions was the perfect introduction to the Mekong Delta and Vietnamese way of life.

Don't mind us, we'll just get in your way...

We were very surprised how freindly eveyone we met was. No one seemed to mind us being there and this become typical of our experience in Southern Vietnam.
