Tavira is a lovely old town which stands on either side of the river Gilao. Its two halves are connected by a roman bridge.and it's the town in Algarve wich developed the most in the last ten years as far as i know

Tavira is considered by many to be the most beautiful town in the Algarve. stand on the battlements of the moorish castle on top of the hill. Nowhere else in the Algarve, along with the old tavira full of churches and historic buildings has developed to a modern town with a lot to offer to the tourists

Besides churches and a fascinating history, Tavira is simply a magical place to visit. Just take a stroll on the riverside broad-walk in the late afternoon and observe the reflections of the town on the other side.

I've always wanted to visit Tavira, and now I'm sure of it. Very nice page and photos. I will definately stay there a few days when I visit Portugal.

Vitor, the downtown area of Tavira looks very quaint and a nice place to wander in! Great travelogues too, the pool of water at Pego do Inferno looks very inviting for a hot Algarve day!
