SOME HIGHLIGHTS OF MY 2 DAYS' VISIT ~ The capital city of the United States ~ What more can I say about this amazing place? The good thing in Washington D.C. is, once you get to the central part around the National Mall, you'll find many of your must-sees close to one another, so it's easy to plan your sight seeing.
It's a city of great history, which remembers the nation's greatest leaders and honours its heroes - D.C.'s impressive memorials are quite exceptional and memorable. It's a city of grand classic architecture and dozens of museums and galleries, that will satisfy many tastes and points of interest. And yet it's a city that is so easy to slow down and relax in! Two days was not enough, I would need at least a week there to explore the museums and the lovely Georgetown village. I really hope to return some day to fill some of the blanks on my list. Now I understand why some people visit Washington D.C. yearly... you just can't get enough on one visit! |

ZanieOR Sat May 3, 2008 06:13 UTC I'm looking forward to my first visit to Washington DC and enjoyed your perspective and tips very much. I was impressed with your knowledge and appreciation of American history in many of your tips. | Pawtuxet Wed Sep 6, 2006 18:23 UTC Back for a review of your DC page. It's wonderful. My niece is taking 2 sons soon...first time for all of them. EVERYONE should be able to go. | mtncorg Mon Sep 4, 2006 17:07 UTC Very interesting tips and comments. The government buildings are much more interesting - and easier - for Americans to visit. There is a lot to see here, especially, off the beaten road. Good work. | icunme Thu Aug 24, 2006 21:11 UTC Outstanding DC pages that bring back very dear memories. Will return again. Ciao, Carol |
