Our initial plan was to stay at the hostel enroute to Hohnstein instead of Rathen. Good thing we didn't as the hostel at Hohnstein was closed!
So it was a case of tracking up to the gates to find it shut and wondering what's it like.
The town itself is nothing to harp about. I think we were there on Sunday. No shops, no villagers, nothing. One Jewish church, pretty houses with beautiful windows and laced curtains and some Christmes decorations.
