"A thousand things to see" Barcelona by akikonomu

If I had to write what I did and saw in Barcelona during my one week stay there, it could constitute a novella. It has always been a dream to visit the city for Gaudi's art and the Art Noveau architecture, but being pretty "out of the way" for a non-European, it took me a long while to actually set foot in the city.

And I absolutely love the place. The multitude of beautiful architecture and museums are a great highlight of Barcelona. But most of all, the vibrancy and liveliness of the city provides an interesting contrast to the more serious cultural aspects.

Spanish food is definitely my cup of tea, as I'm a light but experimental eater. Pecked through tapas bars, the famous Boqueria market (filled with plenty of seafood, sweets, fruits and jamon!!) and cafes that litter the city.

Although the city can be quite packed with tourists but there's always some little space you can hide away to enjoy your vacation. Think the Guell park in the north or some nook in the old quarter.

Whatever you choose, savour every minute of it.
