Shwedagon Pagoda Shwedagon Paya Review

It's definitely a must see site, especially if you are Buddhist. The magnificence of the pagoda is most impressive and there are many shrines with interesting history and stories behind them. I've attempted to record what we experienced at the pagoda in the travelogue.

Chinatown Chinatown Review

The area in Yangon where you can find all things Chinese. The sale style of the shops are pretty old fashioned, where dried goods are sold from the gunny sacks and salted fish are homemade. Some stalls do not have fixed price for weighing and selling fruits, so be used to paying for fruits according to that "handful" or approximate "size".

Measuring weights come in the form of weighted round discs and levered measuring plates. Very much old Southeast Asian style.

There's also plenty of clean, interesting streetside food stalls for you to try out local snacks.

Bogyoke Aung San (Scott Market) Bogyoke (Scott) Market Review

A covered market selling lots of souvenirs and gems. There is an area with only gem stores (as many as 1800) so take your pick, but remember to pick up that receipt as well.
