Seward is by far the best of coastal Alaska. It is a temperate rainforest, so always be prepared, but don't let it deter you. The weather is the reason for the beauty and abundance of wildlife. Spend at least two days, more if you can. There are plenty of B&B's (always cheaper than hotels) and a great hostel (Moby Dick). Go seakayaking, wildlife watching by boat, or hiking to Exit Glacier. Seward is accessible by train, bus or rental car and is about 2.5 hours south of Anchorage. |

northspoon2 Fri Jun 4, 2004 14:38 UTC Chinook's was indeed a great restuarant with EXCELLENT service! Their frest wild salmon was excellent and a person really needs to save room for their blackberry cobbler. |
