We'd waited ten years for paradise! There is something about the Maldives... whenever you see pictures of them, they look too good to be true. The sea is always so clear, the beaches so white and the sky so blue, but as we found, this paradise does exist exactly as it shows in these pictures.
We saved up so that we could splash out for our 10th wedding anniversary and chose the Meeru Island resort. It seemed to have everything that the mid-priced resorts have (we couldn't stretch financially to the VERY posh ones like the Hilton, and who needs a Butler anyway?) and Meeru was quite large by Maldive resort standards.
I'm glad we went to the Maldives. I don't think I would be in a hurry to go back, as there are so many other places on my "to go to" list and I imagine that most islands in the Maldives are going to offer exactly the same experience.
But if you like sun, sand, marine life, paradise and relaxing on holiday, then I would certainly recommend the Maldives as the perfect romantic place to recharge you batteries! |
