Where the Caribbean meets the Med!

I stumbled across the Island of Formentera (not literally) after reading a travel magazine and the fact that it was fairly undiscovered by the British, only a couple of hours flight on a budget airline and unspoilt by tourism was enough to lure me there.

What I hadn't expected was a coastline to rival the Caribbean islands, the nudity to rival Playboy and the nightlife of Ibiza without the tackiness.

Many people day trip to Formentera from Ibiza, but don't get much further than the beaches nearest the port. I'd say it's well worth staying at least a week here, jump on the local buses and explore! With the island only being tiny, you're hardly likely to get lost!

At first I was really uncomfortable sunbathing topless in Europe- but then I went to Egypt (of all places) and finally got up the nerve to take off my top! Now I'm trying to introduce Canadians to topless suntanning!
