Heidelberg is another one of the towns which we frequently take visitors from the states to visit. We usually have a few open days in our tour guide schedules and being 45 minutes away, it makes for a convenient place to see a nice town with an old castle. While we have enjoyed the town in any kind of weather, it is obviously much better to plan to visit during a nice sunny day. This way you can take advantage of the walking paths, the picture opportunities, and lunch on the main square.
