Barcelona is a great weekend trip in May...weather was warm, but not sizzingly hot, and oh yeah, we were kidless. I would definately recommend becoming familiar with the public transportation, as the city is a little spread out for walking...as my very irritated wife noted after wearing shoes not made for long walks the first day.
What a great combination of beach, culture, lively atmosphere, istory, and great food. We had a great time wandering the city, relaxing with Sangria, and wandering again. It is definately a contrast to Madrid, but I found a lot of similarities to Sevilla.
A must stop for someone who wants to experience Spain. We stopped here again on a cruise stop in July, which was blistering hot, but relaxing in Placa Reial is still enjoyable. |
