Paris is a wonderful city. Unfortunately, we had a number of factors that added up to a disappointing visit. We drove to Paris from Frankfort for a long weekend, and arrived during rush hour on Thursday. Which made for an interesting drive to our hotel in Montmarte. After finally getting to the hotel, trying to park the car in an extremely tight garage, resulted in several scratches.

Then, admittingly, planning to hit Paris on foot, using Montmarte as a base and having a 1 1/2 year old and 5 year old in tow probably wasn't our smartest decision. We found the Montmarte area very dirty and the on and off rain did not help. To top it all off, the back wheel of the stroller kept falling off.

Even with all that, Paris is one of the must stops during any European trip. The amount of history and the number of breathtaking exhibits is amazing. I am anxious to return to Paris for a weekend...without the kids.
