After living in Germany for 3 years, I decided that I needed to visit Berlin. Using a friend and his families visit as an excuse, our two families drove from Wiesbaden to Berlin for a 4 day weekend. While we had a great time visiting the sites, it was not what I expected from a German city. Certain areas were extremely dirty and unkept, and although we certainly enjoyed our weekend, it was not a city I would be visiting twice. Granted, we visited during the finals of the Bundesligue, which may have contributed to the trash in the streets. However, the Schalke and Bayern Munich fans definately contributed to a fantastic atmosphere in the city. |
