  • Barrow Bridge is a very picturesque part of Bolton, it used to have a large mill there now only the chimney stands, proud.

  • You are best driving up Winter Hill then step out and admire the views. Winter Hill is home for the TV mast which can be seen for miles around

  • I dont know too much about this "tower" only that in the summer months they have had re-enactments there, with people dressed in authentic clothing carrying muskets etc, with court jesters and maidens. Thats all I can tell you, and that it has a small cafe.

  • Stroll along the old canal through Little Lever and head out towards Bury, it is believed that this canal will be restored to its former glory one day but as yet a date hasnt been given. Nice for fishermen and walker alike with plenty to see in around the water.

  • On a nice sunny day head out of the town centre to Bobby Haywards park. Plenty for kids of any age, slides, swings, climing frames, sand pits and musical equipment. Ice cream and coffee, and you can have a great picnic on the grassy embankments
