Going to Maroc

I started off in Casablanca and traveled to Rabat. After which, I stayed in Fez for 8 or 9 days.

The festival was wonderful.

The rest of the trip through the country seemed a bit of a blur and seemed a bit rushed [my own fault] BUT I still had a great time. I went to rissami, merzouga, and Marrakech.

Having French or Arabic was necessary. I speak a little Arabic and had my phrasebook with me at all times [and a dictionary].

The people were friendly and helpful. Yes, there is a lot of male attention, but the best way to handle the "overly friendly" is not to be too "overly friendly".

The food was amazing and my advice to anyone is always stay inside the medinas

Also... advice given to me by an ex pat " try not to look like a tourist, try and look like a foreigner who lives here"

Ok... good advice, but easier said than done when one is completely clueless.

Travel well
