Hurghada

Hurghada, Red Sea
Hurghada is a popular tourist destination at the Red Sea. It is situated 280 km eastern from Luxor and it takes about 4 hours to get to Hurghada through the desert. No tourist car or bus can leave Luxor unprotected because of possible terrorist attacks. Therefore, there are 3 tourist convoys daily, from Luxor to Hurghada and vice versa, with 40-150 buses, mini-buses, vans and cars. Every convoy has military protection thourghout the journey.
Hurghada is full of hotels along the beautiful sandy beach. In the town itself there are many hotels but those outside the town are much better and more expensive. I stayed at the hotel Melia Pharaoh and I had absolutely no objection about the hotel, staff, food, service, cleanliness… Everything is perfect except for the weather in February, it’s very windy with temperatures around 25C. It’s not very suitable for swimming in the sea not to mention outdoor pool. Of course, in most parts of the year the weather is absolutely perfect for swimming. The Red Sea is the most beautiful one I have ever seen. Cristal clear, even in the Hurghada marina. It’s famous for astonishing coral reefs with many various exotic fish, and some of them are just a meter beneath the surface.

Enjoying beautiful weather in February

On the Giftun Island, there is a beach that is just perfect, like from the paradise.
A parking of camels

Camels in the bedouine village

There is this bedouine village in the desert near Hurghada. 33 people live there with children and their greatest treasure is a bunch of camels.
There, you will hear everything about camels and bedouines, why are camels bedouines' best friends.
