Aswan and sites from Aswan to Luxor

Feluccas on the Nile in Aswan
Aswan lies about 900 km south of Cairo. This is where Egypt ends and Nubia begins. There are a lot to see in Aswan. The High Dam on the Nile is now the third biggest in the world. There is one of ancient quarries that provided granite for great architectural accomplishments in Aswan. The temple of Philae is one the three best preserved Ptolemaic temples. Tourists can enjoy a wonderful time on one of many feluccas that glide softly on the Nile. Or aboard one out more than 150 ships that sail from Aswan to Luxor. Somewhat to the north from Aswan there are another two fascinating archeological sites, Kom Ombo and Edfu.
Aswan is, lastly, the most important departure point for excursions to Abu Simbel, jewel of the desert.
