Taroko Gorge Travel Guide: 47 reviews and 79 photos
From the busy city scene of Taipei, we took the train to Taroko Gorge in Hualien County and stayed overnight at Tianshiang.
The scenery here is just magnificant. I don't know if words can describe it. Beautiful marble canyon, deep valley and very tall cliffs.
Some of the road on this stretch of the Central Cross Island Highway is quite narrow and only a bus can barely pass by at a time. But the highway itself is truely an engineering masterpiece, as it cuts through the mountains and joining the East and West Coast.
- Pros:Really amazing scenery that can't be seen anywhere else
- Cons:Difficult to travel around if you don't have a car

A very impressive looking gorge!
Thanks for visiting my pages. Yes, there are bikes for rent now, but unfortunately I was too late in the day to get one. I spent hours walking myself... but allows you the time to enjoy!
Nice pictures of Tarako Gorge. I was supposed to visit but the tour was cancelled because one the bridge cracked after a typhoon. Now, I got to see close up. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, SL :)
Hi your main page photo is beautiful - very inspiring and motivating to go visit Taiwan!I love China and the mandarin language and hope to get to Taiwan and Tibet before too long! All the best with more travels and constructive tourism!
Wow! This picture is gorgeous!
Great tips and photos. The gorge is on my must see list.
Taroko Gorge is a gorgeous section of Taiwan. Your tips gives us a great perspective on an area I knew only from the pre-flight movies on China Air;-\
Great adventure!! Fascinating!
It should be a great experience to walk from Tienshiang to Yentzuko although in some sections the road might be a little narrow.
Another wonderful page...great pictures...
