Charitas Beach. Niteroi - Estado do Rio de Janeiro

A collection of tropical beaches.

I estimate the coastline of Rio State to be 500 km long from Parati to Barra de Itabapoana, that is a direct measurement not one that takes in the many sensuous bays and convoluted headlands that separate the Atlantic Ocean from the land mass that is the State of Rio in S.E. Brasil.

the first tropical beach shows Charitas to the left and on the right a small part of Sao Franciso beach, on the Niteroi side of the Gaunabara bay.

I have not visited them all,an idea for the future but present views of the ones that I have seen.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Big, Bold and Beautiful, the beaches and more!
Cons:Need a guide ,a car and a few weeks to experience them all.
In a nutshell:I'm ready for a return visit.

Wow, David this is beach "heaven"! I see that Rafael was your guide?? Lopes Mendes Beach is wonderful. Love your "Hemingway Pose". Photo of Praia de Fora is marvelous. Weather at nite sounds divine.
