Rio from all angles. | A Carioca in his hometown |
Who better qualified to show me around this fabulous City than a Carioca, a man superbly able to guide me in and around all the places of interest and still keep some treasures hidden to ensure that I return, what is more he is a V.T member as well.
Do not be fooled by the T shirt with Canada on the front, that is just to fool all the viewers and to get some people asking ' where is Canada anyway?'
Besides he made the supreme gesture to improve the Canada/Brasil relations.
The anticipation I experienced prior to take off from Calgary included such minor things as a visa from the Brasilian Consulate, shots for all sorts of possible health hazard and above all was I wise making the trip to a really hot climate, since my travels had usually been to hike in the Alps.
On the second day of my visit we decided to visit the Sugar Loaf and to wander around some of the beaches. The views from the top of Sugar Loaf do indeed allow the traveller to see Rio from all angles. It has enough elevation to actually see the places and to enjoy the multi faceted panorama that is displayed. |

jumpingnorman Thu Oct 8, 2009 15:03 UTC David, your guide has a jump pic(http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/p/m/142c29/ )...you think I should have it in the jumpinggalleries? Too bad about baseball cap and camera view...happened to me before also. But you can crop pic afterwards, Norman :) | tiabunna Thu Oct 18, 2007 00:07 UTC Rio always looks so spectacular, with that combination of beaches and peaks. It seems the local VTer helped make a good trip great! | saillady Tue Aug 14, 2007 14:14 UTC We're going to Rio next March, 2008...would like to know more info about the train you took to Corcovado.... Thank you...I love your information....and this is from another Canadian!!!! | Nemorino Wed Aug 1, 2007 21:05 UTC Rio has been in the news lately, but nothing good. Glad you had an enjoyable and peaceful visit even though you once happened to be at the same place & same time with the riot police. Great that you had a knowledgeable local VT member to show you around. |
