Of all capital cities in Scandinavia, OSLO is the oldest one. It was founded by a Viking king in 1048. It is also Norway's largest city, however the population of the city is relativlly small.
The Bygdøy Peninsula, reachyble by a ferry, is a residential area aswell as a cluster of museum, including the open air Norwegian Folk Museum, the Viking Ship Museum, the Polar ship Fram Museum and the Kon-Tiki Museum. |
