Sultan Abdul Samad Building: Sultan Abdul samad Building
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is probably the most impressive building in the whole KL. Looking at it in details shows a remarkable work of architecture. Inside it is a High Court and Supreme Court, but it used to be a colonial administrative centre.

  • Walking around Lake garden area offers plenty of sightseeing opportunities. One og them is the tribute to those who died in the communist insurgency of the 1950s.

Parks and Gardens: Asean sculpture garden
  • Tip Rating:
  • After a long walk from the centre of town to the Lake Garden Area gives you a reward of a beautiful sculpture park. It looks like one of the favourite spot of Malaysian to get away from the busy centre.

It is nice to explore the area and relax under the sunny sky. There are many completely different sculptures in the park and I especially like the narration infron of each one. If it suddenly starts to rain (which often does in KL - we names it "3 o'clock rain") some of the sculptures even become useful as they give shelter from the rain.

    Parks and Gardens: Lake gardens
  • Tip Rating:
  • Lake gardens are KL's biggest and most popular park. It is located at Jalan Perdana. It is built around two lakes on 92 hectares of tropical garden. The park si so huge, you need to take a day to explore it in detail. It is so peaceful comparing to a busy city centre just a few miles away.

It is a place for the whole family. Children are amused by big dinosaurus theme park and playground, there is also a deer park, butterfly park, monkeys all over the place and lots of exotic plants and trees.

It is a peaceful place for joggers and anybody who likes to walk all day long.

    Things To Do: Police museum
  • Tip Rating:
  • For me this was an unusual museum. What does the police need an museum I thought?

The museum was opened in 1961. The museum is dedicated to the history and activities of the Royal Malaysian Police dating back to the Melaka Sultanate.

National Planetarium & Space Agency: NATIONAL PLANETARIUM
  • Tip Rating:
  • National planetarium is located at Lake Garden. The planetarium include a space theater, a space science exhibition, a resource center and a viewing gallery. I was also surprised to see the replicas of Stonehenge and ancient Chinese and Indian observatories there.

    Chinatown: Chinatown - Jalan Petaling
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is my favourite part of KL. I just love to watch the way life goes on in Chinatown. KL's Chinatown is located at Jalan Petaling.

Malaysia has the largest number of Chinese in SE Asia, about 27% of the population in Peninsular Malaysia and are found in all major cities. The main dialect spoken amongst the Chinese in KL is Cantonese.

This is the place where food is a key feature. Business starts before daybreak at the wet market. At night, the whole place is transformed into a canvas-canopied night market, also called pasar malam. For the night people, this place has a large offering of goods (as well as food) even when it is dark.

There are many stalls selling fresh fruit. On the picture is a pile of rambutan, a really watery & sweet fruit.

Chinatown: Explore the smells of Chinatown food market
  • Tip Rating:
  • When strolling around Chinatown on Jalan Petaling you have to check the chinese food market. You can't see it from the street, but follow the slightly unpleasent smell and you fill find almost a hidden passageway to it. Explore the vegetables, dairy products, meats, fishes and so much more ....
