Getting TO/AROUND: Most agencies and hotels offer 1, 2 or 3 day tours around Tunisia. To explore the whole country you need more time. The best way is to rent a jeep with air - conditioning, find a map of Tunisia and get the engine running. Sign roads are very good, so it is difficult to get lost. It is also helpful to know that the main street in all larger towns in Tunisia are named after their first president - Habib Bourguiba.

Getting TO/AROUND: Despite being used mainly by tourists, taxis are really cheap mean of transport in Tunisia. A few dinars can get you from your resort in Hammamet to the centre of Hammamet.
There are yellow and white taxis.

Excellent overview of Tunisia, you seem to have had a similar itinerary to us, it's nice to read about all these places again.

Good page, Barbara, you give a right overview of Tunisia. A small country but though a great one, that has a lot to offer !

Great Tunisia page Barbara. A very interesting journey. I also visited this place in september 2004, and I still like to remember it.
