Litoral Norte Northern Coast My first tour in Natal would be a buggy ride on sand dunes. I thought of Sandy Point in Victoria, Australia where I went once to get away from town; but there the dunes are ardently protected, and not even walkers, let alone buggies, can encroach upon their forms. I'd been assured that in Natal accredited drivers only did the trip, and they followed strictly laid out tracks. OK, I thought, let's try it. Natal is one of a string of exquisite sub-tropical beach-side cities along the northeast coast of Brazil. It's the capital of Rio Grande do Norte. You are told when you arrive that this is "the city of eternal sun". I stayed in town, adjacent to the beach, and for me at least the slogan did hold true. I had perfect beach weather every day. |
