Orlando

We have just returned after a 4 week break to Orlando. The weather was excellent and it was close to breaking records for the longest period without any rain when we left. This time without any children in tow we could visit some of the place they would have descibed as boring. Because a lot of the places are spread out I have taken the easy route and decided to list them under Orlando rather than spreading them out.

Trips to Orlando

We have had 3 trips to Orlando. The first one was in 1993 when we stayed at an apartment complex by Highway 192. On our last visit we noticed it was closed and boarded up. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we went again in 1994. This time we hired a house at Greater Groves off Highway 27. We arrived when it was dark and I remember Lin checking the place out as I unloaded the car. She came out and told me it was far exceeded her expectations. It was very nice with all the space and a pool. The daughters really enjoyed it. Our last trip was an extended trip in 2010 of 4 weeks. We really enjoyed ourselves and the record breaking dry weather. We have booked another break for 2011 and hope to stay clear of the theme parks and look for the unusual to do.

Glad you enjoyed your holidays in Florida so much. The animals at Gatorland must be fascinating to watch. Will certainly use your practical tips should I ever visit Orlando.
