This is one of the most popular tourist places to visit in Germany with 2 million visitors a year. The village of Hohenschwangau has Schloss Hohenschwangau in the middle of the village and standing on top of a steep hill overlooking the village is the more famous Schloss Neuschwanstein. I have been here 4 times. There are some beautiful views, but unfortunately I picked a rainy day and a long journey from Salzburg the last time I visited.
