Potsdam is a place that most people have never heard of. This can be a good or bad thing depending upon your point of view. The Palaces and grounds are amongst the best in Europe. This unique area became a world heritage site in 1990.
Since I first visited Potsdam in 2003, I have returned a number of times and I'm am slowly starting to appreciate how much the area has to offer for visitors. The Sanssouci Royal Park is huge with numerous buildings. Most visitors only scratch the surface with visits to the main buildings.

Very nice pages. Will be there in May 2013 as a daytrip from Berlin.
Wonderful page! Lovely photo's! Had just finished reading about it on a Castle's of Germany website. It is a wonder they don't have golf carts for hire with so much walking to be done.
My one visit to Potsdam so far was a somewhat hectic business trip with no time to look at the sights, so I hope to return. Great that you have been there several times and had a good look at everything! I like the history and the Einstein connection.
Great Potsdam page! Fantastic intro on Sanssouci! Very detailled things-to-do tips!!
So that's why it's called Einteintrum...did I spell that right? hehehe...nice tip...thanks
Interesting place to visit. What a lot of great palaces of various sizes. I loved the 'Turkish Mosque'. Excellent pictures and now even more good informative tips.
To be beside the Schloss where history was changed by some great statesmen must have been a wonderful experience. The parks look lovely & I do like to walk around too!
Some great new photos here from Potsdam
Also my first time to hear of this place, was interesting to work through it!
Oh nice Potsdam page Alan! I was there back in May and I can see from your tips that I missed a few places! Luckily I have plenty of opportunity to return. Nice photos here too :)
